Taylor Swift turned 35 on December 13 – and that’s not the only thing she had to celebrate.

On the eve of her birthday, the pop star made history as she became the most decorated artist ever at the Billboard Music Awards.

Surpassing the reigning title holder, Drake, Swift took home an impressive 10 awards at the ceremony – including Top Artist, Top Billboard 200, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, and Top Radio Songs Artist.

Swift also managed to scoop up the gongs for Top Billboard 200 Global Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for The Tortured Poets Department.

But while Swift raises a glass to her achievement, her most recent awards aren’t the only thing that are sure to have put a smile on her face this year.

Pubity.com takes a look back at Swift’s year and career in numbers…

49 – the number of BBMAs that Taylor Swift has scooped up across her career

Heading into the 2024 Billboard Music Awards ceremony on December 12, Swift was tied with Drake as the most decorated artists – with each having 39 trophies to their names.

But after the singer had been named the winner in 10 categories on the night, she now sits with 49 BBMAs to her name – the most of any artist.

In her virtual awards speech, Swift thanked the awards for giving her the “nicest early birthday present” – and also told her fans how grateful she is for them.

“Everything that has happened with The Eras Tour and The Tortured Poets Department, I just have to say thank you. It means the world to me that you guys have embraced the things I have made,” she said.

“And the fact that you’ve cared so much about my music… This is the nicest early birthday present you could have given me. So, thank you very much, I love it. It’s exactly what I wanted.”

Although The Eras Tour – which wrapped up after a three-night run in Vancouver on December 8 – actually consisted of 149 shows, 83 of those were performed in 2024.

The tour began on March 17 2023, with 66 performances played across the US and South America in 2023. Swift then began the tour again on February 7 this year, taking her career-spanning hits across the globe.

2,077,618,725 – the number of dollars made in ticket sales from Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour

Yes, you read that right – Swift raked in a staggering $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales alone on The Eras Tour, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.

According to the New York Times, the figure is “double the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour in history”.

Previous “industry record” holders Coldplay had accumulated $1 billion in ticket sales during their Music of the Spheres World Tour – but Swift brought in double that for The Eras Tour.

Not only that, but the $2 billion doesn’t even account for any merchandise sold for the tour…

Apparently that aforementioned $2,077,618,725 doesn’t even include what Taylor made from merch during the tour,

261,700,000 – the number of dollars made in ticket sales from Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film

… or her Eras Tour concert film, which made a whopping $261.7 million worldwide. This made it – you guessed it – the highest-grossing concert film of all time.

2 – the number of Grammy awards that Taylor Swift won at the 2024 ceremony

While she may have snagged 10 BBMAs, Swift didn’t do too shabbily at the Grammys, either.

The singer won two Grammys on the night – Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for her 10th studio album, Midnights.

They were added to her other wins over her career, which total a whopping 14.

Swift was nominated for six awards at the 2024 Grammys, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Anti-Hero, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Karma.

However, we’re doubtful that Swift’s total number of Grammys will stay at 14 for long.

The star was given six more nods ahead of the 2025 ceremony.

Swift’s latest project, The Tortured Poets Department, is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and last but not least, Album of the Year – making Swift the first woman ever to receive seven nominations in this last category.

In footage from her Eras Tour show on November 8 – the day the nominations were announced – Swift thanked fans for supporting the release of TTPD.

“You guys did something so amazing over the course of the last few months. I just mean what you did with embracing Tortured Poets Department, the album,” she told them.

“I wrote during the Eras Tour – I wrote that album, made that album, all [while] trying to keep it a secret from you guys – and then announced the album, and then we basically were working really hard to secretly put together a new chapter in the Eras Tour of The Tortured Poets Department.”

“And the most recent thing that you did, because everything that happens is a direct reflection of the passion that you show, is you guys got this album nominated for six Grammys,” Swift continued. “It’s so unbelievable, so thank you.”

Swift was right – her legion of fans really have driven her to success this year.

Swifties managed to keep TTPD at the top of the Billboard 200 for a huge 16 weeks…

313,747,178 – the number of streams TTPD received in a single day on Spotify

…and they also caused Swift to break another record.

Upon its release on April 19, Swift’s fans streamed TTPD on Spotify a staggering 313,747,178 times – making it the most-streamed album in a single day ever.

Swift actually broke her own record here – as she previously held the title for her 2022 album, Midnights. This was streamed 184,695,609 in October of that year – so Swift smashed the target!
