- Justin Baldoni lawyers seeking proof Nicepool was made to humiliate him
- The 2024 film was c0-written by Blake Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds
- The superhero has a man bun and dreams of a podcast

Justin Baldoni is trying to get ahold of communications about Ryan Reynolds‘ character, Nicepool, to try and prove he was created to “bully” him.
Lawyers for him contacted Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Disney’s CEO Bob Iger to acquire documents to potentially use in court concerning his legal battle against Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively.
The letter, seen by PEOPLE magazine, said Justin’s team are seeking “any and all documents relating to the development of the Nicepool character” and “communications relating to the development, writing and filming of storylines and scenes featuring Nicepool.”
They are looking for evidence “relating to or reflecting a deliberate attempt to mock, harass, ridicule, intimidate or bully Baldoni through the character of Nicepool” and other topics.

Neither Reynolds, Lively, Disney or Marvel responded to the outlet’s requests for comment.

Who is Nicepool?
Nicepool is a small part brought to life by Reynolds in the 2024 film Deadpool and Wolverine, which he co-wrote.
The character sports a man-bun and calls himself a “feminist” and dubs Ladypool, played by Lively, “gorgeous”.
Nicepool also says, “She just had a baby too, and you can’t even tell.”
In a deleted scene, which circulated on social media, Nicepool suggests his “calling is to one day start a podcast that monetizes the women’s movement”.
In 2021, Baldoni started the podcast Man Enough, all about “modern masculinity”. Following Lively’s legal complaint, his co-host, Liz Plank, departed the project.
Why is Justin Baldoni seeking legal letters?
On New Year’s Day, the It Ends With Us star and director filed a lawsuit against The New York Times with nine other plaintiffs. It is in relation to an investigation published in late December.
The suit claims the paper libelled him and “cherry-picked” evidence to show Blake Lively was a victim of sexual harassment and smears from Baldoni and others.

What does Blake Lively?
The ex-Gossip Girl star made a number of claims in her suit, including sexual harassment and a hostile working environment.
A notable one was that Baldoni had “back-channel ways of criticizing her body and weight” after she welcomed her fourth baby.
