HBO’s adaptaion of The Last of Us earned massive success and the creators are set to launch the second season in the series.

A Brutal Scene Never Seen Before

Despite all the stigmas and doubts associated with the video game adaptations, the Season 1 proved all these wrong and introduced the content which fans found relatable, while staying true to the beloved game.

Now, with season two on the horizon, fans are eager to see how the show expands the world even further. The details regarding the upcoming season have also been shared.

Players are told that season 2 won’t cover the whole story, and they can expect seasons 3 and 4. Now, one of the most anticipated moments of season two is seeing how non-gamers react to that infamous scene.

The true gamers or those who play The Last of Us are aware of what this means exactly, but here is another surprise for every viewer. According to Showrunner Neil Druckmann, the show will include a scene that has been originally excluded from the game, and it will be a brutal one.

He said while speaking to Entertainment Weekly (Via GamesRadar+), “I’m very excited for people to see it,” He has just given a hint, and fans are already curious about it; they are anticipating what this scene can be, but it is quite hard to predict right now.

Why Abby Looks Different in the Show

Another aspect of the season has become a topic of discussion; the changes in Abby’s appearance have raised concerns. She is different from how she looks in the game: she has a muscular build, but in the show, she is going to be totally opposite.

However, Neil Druckmann explained why this is so; he said that her muscular physique is based on the gameplay mechanics, and as the show is not concerned about mechanics but more with other aspects, that’s why she will have a new look. He stated,

“In the game, you have to play both characters [Ellie and Abby], and we need them to play differently. We needed Ellie to feel smaller and kind of maneuver around, and Abby was meant to play more like Joel in that she’s almost like a brute in the way she can physically manhandle certain things.”

“That doesn’t play as big of a role in this version of the story because there’s not as much violent action from moment to moment. It’s more about the drama. I’m not saying there’s no action here. It’s just, again, different priorities and how you approach it.”

Season 2 is going to premiere in April, and the expectations are all high. Despite the controversies, fans are waiting to see how the show will handle Joel’s death and maintain a balance between the screen time of the characters.
