The relationship timeline of Iris Apatow and Sam Nivola
The rumors that the two were dating started when Apatow appeared in Nivola’s behind-the-scenes photos of The White Lotus in the spring of 2024. Fans were confused because she wasn’t announced to appear in the show.

Irish Apatow and Sam Nivola Instagram hints
In photos from the set in April 2024, Nivola revealed Apatow was with him in Thailand. He posted a photo dump on Instagram that said: “The pookinator is looking absolutely FIRE tonight”. If you don’t know Pookie and Jet, you won’t get that reference!
The following month, Nivola was in a photo dump posted by Apatow. He is seen sitting next to Apatow while she affectionately holds his face. A little more than friends? The young actor also soft-launched Apatow in a series of black-and-white photos he posted the same month.
In June, Nivola shared a more intimate photo of Apatow kissing his cheek from the same group of photos she shared.
Also that month, Apatow posted a series of photos of her and credited Nirvola as her photographer in the caption.
Leading into August, another series of Apatow’s photos were posted, with yet another kissing cheek photo of Nivola. They love that pose, don’t they?
Couple debut
Come October, the couple made their red carpet at the reopening of Burberry’s East 57th Street flagship store in New York. They were seen holding hands and walking out together after the event. In late October, the two attended the Museum of Modern Art’s 16th Annual Film Benefit.
After a few months of silence, Nivola referenced Apatow in a British Vogue interview. He was asked about being a repo baby as his parents are in the film business like Apatow’s. In response, he said he and his friends, (including Apatow) are “some secret cabal of nepo kids who hang out in black robes.”
So a nepo cult?
When The White Lotus premiered in February, Nivola attended the premiere with Apatow.
The 22-year-old then posted “blown-out photos” of her and Nivola from the night of the premiere. Looking very vintage, but so cute.
In March following one of the last episodes of season three, Nivola urged fans to check out an episode that was central to his character. In one of the last photos, Apatow is onset with her man.
