- More Avengers: Doomsday casting news has been announced

On 26 March, Marvel Studios made several huge casting announcements for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday in a YouTube live stream. The Russo brothers’ project is set for a May 2026 release, and casting rumors have been running wild over who will return and who is joining the cast. Doomsday will be released the year before Avengers: Secret Wars, which is to release in 2027. It is part of Marvel Phase Six, which is the studio’s following chapter that takes place after the Multiverse Saga.
Filming is expected to begin shortly in London.

Who is returning from the Avengers?
Returning in Doomsday from the original squad are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Solider and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.
Who is new to the Avengers: Doomsday Squad?
Vanessa Kirby will make her Marvel debut as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four: First Steps and also in Doomsday. New to the squad but not new to Marvel are Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther and Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent.
Also reprising their Marvel roles are Robert Downey Jr. as Dr Doom, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi. Additionally, Ebon Moss-Bachrach is returning to Marvel as The Thing. Tenich Huerta Mejia is returning as Namor from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Kelsey Grammer was just announced to return as Beast, Danny Ramirez will return as The Falcon, and finally, Lewis Pullman will return as Sentry.
Why is Marvel bringing other characters into the Avengers?
The plot of Doomsday is unclear, so it is unknown what role some of the characters will have in the movie. Returning cast members and nemeses give a clue as to who will be the protagonists and antagonist of the movie. Following the release of Fantastic Four: First Steps, the events from that movie should set up the events in Avengers: Doomsday.
Once that is released, fans may get a more detailed look at what the plot of Doomsday may be.
