Selena Gomez is looking back at how she could have done better in her love life.
The Only Murders In The Building star might be engaged to be wed to the superstar producer Benny Blanco but this isn’t stopping her from reflecting on her past romantic mistakes.
“I’ve been guilty though to start. I think for me, I necessarily felt like in other situations of mine I was very reactive. I think that’s why I was alone for five years because I really needed to collect myself,” Gomez told Jay Shetty on his podcast On Purpose With Jay Shetty.

The Lose You To Love You hitmaker admitted that despite meeting nearly a decade ago, she wasn’t in the right place to date the music producer. They came into contact with each other to make the song Same Old Love in 2015. Blanco’s impressive string of hits includes Rihanna’s Diamonds, Kesha’s TikTok and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream.
She continued, “I think in the past, that’s why I said to him all the time 10 years ago it’s not that I wouldn’t have wanted to be with you, I just wouldn’t have been in the right headspace, and I don’t think you deserved what I had gone through before.”

Who else has Selena Gomez been romantically linked to?
Before getting together with her I Said I loved You First collaborator in 2023, Gomez compiled herself a very star-studded little black book.

Of their coupledom, Bieber told Complex in 2015, “I moved in with my girlfriend when I was 18. Started my own life with her. It was a marriage kind of thing. Living with a girl, it was just too much at that age. But we were so in love. Nothing else mattered. We were all about each other. But when it’s like that and you get your value from that, people will always disappoint you.”
