Sabrina Carpenter is quickly making a name for herself as one of the funniest women in music.
And now the singer, 25, has delighted fans by appearing to make a dig at an ex-boyfriend.
Carpenter re-posted a TikTok video by creator Grace Hopkins, recalling how she was once dumped by a man she had to “convince” herself was attractive.
“When I had to convince myself he was attractive but he ended up breaking up with ME,” the clip read, which saw Hopkins dancing along and lip syncing to Carpenter’s song, Busy Woman.

While some fans noted that Carpenter may have reshared the video because it featured one of her tracks, others couldn’t help but brand her an “absolute icon” – as they believed she may be referencing Barry Keoghan with the repost.
The Saltburn actor, 32, dated the Taste songstress for around a year, before they broke up in December 2024 amid rumors he had cheated.
“I’m so glad to have a shared experience with little miss Sabrina Carpenter lol,” wrote one fan, while another commented, “It’s a canon event babygirl.”
“Everybody just assuming this is about Barry is really making me giggle,” said someone else, as a fourth went on, “Why is the TikTok so real though?”

However, others didn’t understand the post.
“If you have to convince yourself the guy you’re dating is attractive you are the bad person in this situation and good for him for leaving,” chastised one.
Another went on, “This is why I only date people I find physically hot. That way if they do me wrong, I can at least say they were sexy and now I don’t feel as stupid.”
Someone else joked, “I love dating people where I have to convince myself I find them attractive. Nothing weird, nothing bad could ever happen with that mindset.”
Another added, “Not to sound too woke, but if someone had to convince themselves to find me attractive I actually wouldn’t want to date them.”

It isn’t the first time that Carpenter appears to have made a dig at Keoghan.
Fans were unsure what Carpenter would have to say when she graced the stage in the actor’s home city of Dublin last month, as part of her Short n’ Sweet tour.
Ever the joker, however, Carpenter was quick to make light on what could have been an awkward situation.
Speaking to her fans in the 3Arena, she said, “Dublin, it’s so lovely to be here. You all look and sound amazing. But my goodness, these Irish boys are hard work!”
Carpenter also delighted fans when she performed her hit Please Please Please, as she winked at the crowd and said, “This one’s for you, Dublin.”
The song is believed to be written about Keoghan, who also starred in the song’s music video.
Carpenter later ‘killed off’ the Oscar-nominee in the remixed version of the track, which she duets on with Dolly Parton.
