When Dolly Parton featured in a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter this Valentine’s Day, the pair quickly became the duo we didn’t know we needed.

The blond bombshells re-released Carpenter’s hit song Please Please Please, as part of the deluxe version of her album, Short n’ Sweet.

And while Parton, 79, may be a big fan of 25-year-old Carpenter, the Jolene singer has now opened up about a strict set of rules she had in place before working with the sometimes potty-mouthed songstress.

“Of course, she can talk a little bad now and then,” Parton admitted

“I told her, I said, ‘Now, I don’t cuss. I don’t make fun of Jesus. I don’t talk bad about God, and I don’t say dirty words, on camera – but have been known to if I get mad enough!’”

Thankfully, Carpenter took Parton’s instructions onboard.

Instead of singing the original line (“I beg you, don’t embarrass me, motherf*****”), Carpenter changed the lyrics to, “I beg you, don’t embarrass me like the others”.

While Parton may draw the line at unsavory language, she appears to be on board with murder – in a theatrical sense, at least!

Fans of Carpenter will know that her then-boyfriend Barry Keoghan starred in the original Please Please Please video.

Wearing a white vest, the Saltburn actor, 32, calls on his girlfriend to bail him out of jail.

But as the pair called off their year-long romance in December 2024 over rumors Keoghan cheated, Carpenter changed the story’s narrative.

The new video shows her and Parton speeding away in a pick-up truck, with a hooded man in a white vest tied up in the back.

Branding Carpenter “the funniest person ever”, fans said it was always necessary to “read the fine print” – as her lyrics warned her ex of the consequences if he embarrassed her.

“She told him not to embarrass her… Oh well, the DIVA that she is,” laughed one.

Fans think Sabrina Carpenter shaded Barry Keoghan in TikTok video

So Keoghan didn’t survive Carpenter’s video after all – and it’s not the only savage take-down he’s had to contend with from the pint-sized pop star lately, either.

Fans think that Carpenter made a dig at the actor this week, by simply resharing a TikTok video.

The Taste singer re-posted a TikTok video by creator Grace Hopkins, recalling how she was once dumped by a man she had to “convince” herself was attractive.

“When I had to convince myself he was attractive but he ended up breaking up with ME,” the clip read, which saw Hopkins dancing along and lip syncing to Carpenter’s song, Busy Woman.

While some fans noted that Carpenter may have reshared the video because it featured one of her tracks, others couldn’t help but brand her an “absolute icon”.
