Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino are officially broken up. The news came in late March 2025 that Sweeney, 27, and Davino, 41, had ended their relationship. Since 2018, the actress and the businessman have been linked.

They got engaged in 2022 and reportedly set a May 2025 wedding date, but it was postponed.

Rumors swirled about why the wedding was postponed, which we have covered, but not everyone thought it would mean the end of their relationship. Sweeney has not had any other public relationships other than with Davino. However, rumors swirled about Sweeney and her Anyone But You co-star Glenn Powell in 2023.

In the rom-com, the two played lovers, and they later admitted they played up their chemistry to gain interest in the movie. If that wasn’t weird enough, Davino was a co-producer with Sweeney on the movie. Recently, the 27-year-old was spotted hanging out with Powell at his sister’s wedding, which got fans talking, although that was not the reason for her split from Davino.

Find out why Davino and Sweeney ended their relationship.

Splitsville rumors started when sources claimed the two were living apart in February. Reportedly, Sweeney was living in the Beverly Hills Hotel while Davino was elsewhere.

Then, in March, Sweeney deleted a photo of her and Davino kissing in a carousel of her Instagram photos, leading to more split speculation.

An exclusive source told People the real reason behind the split. To the tabloid, the source said: “She’s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects”.

This year, Sweeney is booked and busy; she is reprising her role as Cassie Howard in Euphoria and has several other projects. One of her projects is starring as boxer Christy Martin in a biopic.

While she is very busy, the source said that her relationship and wedding overwhelmed her because “she didn’t feel right about it.”

Ultimately, her love for a career and reluctance to settle down ended the relationship.

People’s source elaborated: “She’s not ready to settle down. They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”

Regarding how long the couple has been broken up, we don’t know. Reports of them living apart in February could suggest two months at a push, but who knows? We know they were together in October 2024, as Sweeney said of Davino in an interview: “We’re in it together. And we want to see each other succeed.”

She spoke about balancing her busy career and success with her relationship. For the almost seven-year relationship, Sweeney has been notoriously private.

Is Sweeney dating Glenn Powell?

In short, no. Powell appeared on the Today with Jenna & Friends chat show, where he spoke about Sweeney attending his sister’s wedding. “You know, timing is everything in this world. [Leslie] and Syd are obviously great friends, and it was a hell of a wedding,” he said.

Powell’s mom, Cydney, denied the dating rumors in another exclusive interview. She said of the rumors, “They’re definitely not together.”

Cydney elaborated and said that Sweeney was good friends with Powell’s sister Leslie, which is why she attended the wedding.

So there you have it.
