Adam Richman has moved to reassure fans that he’s fine after a social media post yesterday left many worrying for his wellbeing.

The Man vs Food star took to Instagram and X with a message to his millions of followers, saying, “Thank you all for the support you have given & the chance to live out my dreams to uplift so many others through the shows that I make, and to tell their stories. I’m not perfect, never claimed to be. I’ve always tried my best and tried to lead with love. I’m rooting for all of you, & appreciate every last one of you. With Love & Respect, Adam”

Adam Richman Had Fans Worried With Social Media Post

Given the tone of the caption and the picture that accompanied it on Instagram – a solemn shot of Richman sat alone in a soccer stadium – many fans worried about the TV presenter’s mental health.

@stewartjordan1 commented, referencing Richman’s recent experience of having his possessions stolen in the UK. He wrote “I don’t know the context of this but I hope that you are OK? We’ve never met, but I’m a big fan and followed MvF from the start. You treat everyone with respect and compassion. Your recent post about finding your stolen bag and the importance of its personal contents was very moving, especially how grateful and humble you were to the guy that helped you find it. You seem like one of the good guys, really do hope you are OK. If I’ve read the room wrong, I apologise for being too serious.”

Another follower, @harry.maplesden, was confused by the caption, but sent well wishes, saying “Not sure if this caption is just worded a bit funny or not! But we love you Adam, you have fans across the globe. Chin up and much love my brother ”

As it happens, Richman does have some health concerns, as he posted a follow up to his original post later in the day. However, the 50-year-old clarified that he is heading into hospital for surgeries on “a couple of injuries” and his hospital visit is not related to a serious illness.

Despite this, Richman revealed he was extremely scared, with his father going into hospital for what were supposed to be relativelt safe surgeries and never coming out, at only two years older than Richman is now. The presenter explained that he had prayed the previous night and his initial post was just one of gratitude.

“I wasn’t going to say anything because it’s kind of a personal nature,” Richman said. “So I have to have a couple of surgeries. Thankfully it’s just to fix some injuries I’ve had. It’s nothing, God forbid, related to a much more serious medical condition. But they’re serious surgeries to fix these injuries.

“I’m Super Scared”

“These injuries are maybe a little bit of a result of me feeling my own age,” the former Man vs Food host continued. “I’m scared. I’m super scared out of my mind, and a bit sad.

“I know nowadays, everyone’s trying to be a signma. No one wants to admit any kind of fear, but I’m scared.

“I prayed last night. And what came through very clearly to me after prayer was just that I should just put out a lot of gratitude and a bit of humility, and that’s all I was trying to communicate because the bottom line is that I work at the pleasure of the people that enjoy my shows, that enjoy me as a host or whatever that is.”

Richman then provided further clarifications on his Instagram story, writing, “Thank you for all of your concern everyone. I’m fine. It was a post of just honesty & gratitude after praying last night. I am sorry if I scared anyone.” Richman then added a picture to his story of himself in a hospital gown apparently about to head into surgery. The picture was accompanied by The Beastie Boys song No Sleep ’til Brooklyn.
