The trend comes after the controversial Studio Ghibli trend from the other week. That one prompted a wave of discussion about a number of topics. These range from potential copyright infringements and the like. Some even debated the idea whether people who used Artificial Intelligence were making art or not.

How do you do the Barbie AI trend?
The first thing you’ll need to do is log into ChatGPT via the app or the web browser.
Then, put into a photo of yourself that you like the final image to be based on, the best one you can find for the Barbie AI treatment. Do this by clicking on the Add icon.
Write in the text box the following prompt, “Create a realistic action figure (Barbie doll) of the person in this photo. The doll should be full figure and displayed in its original clear plastic box packaging. At the top of the box is the name of the toy.”

Well, if you’re not pleased with the image, you can suggest edits and alterations. These can include colours, accessories and so on.

Does everyone like it?
Well, obviously not! As mentioned above, some pointed out the many negative side effects of AI. These include not only copyright, creativity, and personal data infringements but also the ecological waste it leads too.
Not to be a total boomer but PLEASE stop feeding your likeness to AI for all those anime/barbie trends going around right now. It’s terrible for the environment but also AI can be used for so many nefarious things & people are genuinely getting so bad at recognizing real vs AI.
