- Katy Perry headed on a Blue Origin mission
- She was joined by a number of other women on the flight
- How much did the singer pay to go on the eight-minute space jaunt?

Katy Perry recently made pop star history with her recent Blue Origin mission into space. The trip sparked a whole range of reactions, memes and discussion about the potential waste it caused.
Much of the to-do was because the jaunt only lasted eight minutes. This was a whole three minutes less than it was supposed to. Perry was joined by broadcaster Gayle King and others on the first-ever all-female commercial flight outside Earth’s atmosphere.
The company was founded by her fellow traveller, Lauren Sanchez’s fiancé, Jeff Bezos. The Amazon founder created the business in 2000 as part of the first wave to pioneer space tourism.

Prior to jetting off, Perry gushed about how she was doing it for her daughter Daisy.
She told ELLE, “To inspire her to never have limits on her dreams and show her that any type of person can reach their dreams—no matter your background, your ethnicity, your economic situation, or your education level.”
