It’s easy – Coachella livestream all its performances on YouTube. It’s a bit tricky in countries with a large time difference – for example, any UK viewers wanting to see Lady Gaga headline the Friday night would have had to wake up t 7:10am to do so.

However, you can also watch performances on demand via the Coachella app.

There was plenty of huge sets during the festival’s first weekend. Lady Gaga put on a stunning show as ever, while Green Day brought political punk to the main stage. Notably, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong changed a lyric in Jesus Of Suburbia to “Runnin’ away from pain like the kids from Palestine/Tales from another broken home.”

Elsewhere, Charli xcx brought Brat summer back all over again, bringing out guests including Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish and Lorde. However, she later faced controversy when photos of her emerged from an afterparty. She was wearing a sash that read ‘Miss Should Be Headliner’, but some argued it was disrespectful to Green Day, who were headlining the day she was playing.

Lola Young battled through sickness and heatstroke during her performance, which included a rendition of her viral hit Messy. Benson Boone’s set made him out to be one to watch in future, especially when he brought out Queen guitarist Brian May. It was also May’s first performance since he suffered a stroke.

There was also a surprise appearance from politician Bernie Sanders. He came to introduce Clairo’s set and also commented on the state of the country since Trump returned to power.

“I’m here because Clairo has used her prominence to fight for women’s rights, to try to end the terrible, brutal war in Gaza where thousands of women and children are being killed. So I want to thank Clairo not only for being in a great band but for the great work she’s doing,” he said.
