Lily-Rose Depp turns 27 today, and the star of films such as Nosferatu is one of hottest up-and-coming actors in Hollywood. But how much do you know about her?

Lily-Rose Depp has become one of the hottest up-and-coming actors in Hollywood, a status cemented by her performance as Ellen Hutter, a young woman traumatised by the vampire Count Orlok in horror movie Nosferatu last year, which had critics in raptures.
The next movie we will see Lily-Rose in will see her reunite with director Robert Egger from Nosferatu in Werwulf, another movie based on a classic premise. This is currently in post-production with a slated release of Christmas this year. She has also filmed the sci-fi movie Alpha Gang, which is also in post-production but doesn’t have a release date yet.
But how much do you know about Lily-Rose Depp? Here are some facts that you might not know.
She has famous relatives
OK, the surname gives it away – she is the daughter of Johnny Depp, star of the Pirates of the Caribbean series and much more. Johnny even has Lily-Rose’s name tattooed on his chest over his heart.
But Lily-Rose’s famous connections don’t end there. Her mother is Vanessa Paradis, who had a successful singing career in the 1980s and 90s – with hits in her native French and English.
However, Lily-Rose has previously rejected the notion that she is a ‘nepo-baby’ – the derogatory term used for children of famous actors/singers with the inference they were helped to get their break by their parents.
Her aunt is Alysson Paradis, an actress, mostly in French-language movies.
She has survived serious illness
But we are lucky that Lily-Rose is still with us. In 2007, she was rushed to hospital after a serious e.coli infection resulted in acute kidney failure. At the time, her father was shooting the horror musical Sweeney Todd, and he halted filming to rush to her bedside at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London – a noted children’s hospital.
Thankfully, Lily-Rose recovered fully in time. To show his gratitude to the medical team who helped to save Lily-Rose, Johnny donated $2 million to the hospital.
She dropped out of school to be an actor
Lily-Rose has had an interest in acting from a young age and was determined to pursue it as a career. Indeed, in 2016 she even dropped out of school to pursue her dream. In the same year, she landed a leading role in the movie Yoga Hosers, a spin-off movie from Tusk (2014). Lily-Rose reprised her character from Tusk – her cinematic debut – for the latter movie.
She has only one social media profile
While Lily-Rose has grown up in the social media generation, she has generally shied away from the mainstream platforms. Indeed, her parents tried to keep Lily-Rose and her younger brother, Jack, out of the limelight as much as possible when they were children.
At the time of writing, she has an official Instagram account, but that’s it. There are various profiles on other social media platforms but these are all fakes, with images and videos taken from other sites and profiles belonging to friends.
She has modelled for an iconic brand
Alongside her acting career, Lily-Rose has also had a successful side-hustle in modelling. In 2016, when she was just 16, she became a brand ambassador for iconic French brand Chanel – a decision personally overseen by the legendary Karl Lagerfeld.
Since then, Lily-Rose has become one of the most prominent faces of Chanel, modelling for the fashion house on many occasions, including appearing in magazines such as Vogue, Glamour and Elle over the years. She has also been the face of Chanel’s iconic fragrance, No 5.
