She’s now happily loved-up.

But this week, Selena Gomez revealed how she originally planned to adopt.

The Only Murders in the Building actor, 31 – who has been dating songwriter Benny Blanco, 36, since last year – told press of her plans at the Time 100 Most Influential Companies event.

“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,” former Disney star Gomez explained. “A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it.”

Selena continued: “Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”

While her idea may be admirable, Gomez is now in a happy relationship with Blanco.

Speaking on Instagram recently, she described Blanco as “the best thing that’s ever happened” to her.

Gomez – who is set to star in the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel – continued, “If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. If you can’t accept me at my happiest then don’t be in [my] life at all.”

‘Kids are my next goal on the box’

Blanco has also made his feelings clear about the Come and Get It singer.

In an interview with Howard Stern, Blanco admitted that he predicts marriage between the pair, but that he’s “got to get [my] act together!”

He also opened up about wanting children with Gomez, and added, “That’s like my next goal on the box. I have a lot of God kids, I’ve got a ton of nephews. It’s my thing, I love being around kids!”

Blanco continued, “I don’t know a world where it could be better than this. She’s the coolest, the nicest, the sweetest, like, everything.

“She’s truly just like my best friend. We laugh all f***ing day. She inspires me.”
