- Superstar chef has announced the winner of Pubity’s latest ‘you decide’ contest
- One of Ramsay’s favorite dishes comes from the winning country
- Millions of Pubity followers voted for the winner across the tournament
Gordon Ramsay has expressed his pleasure at the winner of Pubity’s latest ‘you decide’ contest on which country has the best cuisine in the world.
You decided
The superstar chef, known for shows such as Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and who has more than 17.5 million followers on Instagram, has cooked all over the world and tasted the best food on offer, so there was no one better to announce the winner of Pubity’s ‘you decide’ contest – which was Moroccan food.
In a joint post on Instagram with Pubity he noted that this contest had been Pubity’s biggest ever, and revealed a Moroccan dish was one of his favorites. “My last time in Morocco and the Atlas Mountains with the Berbers, I got the amazing chance to cook that delicious chicken rfissa – one of my all-time favorite dishes,” he said.
Decisive victory
Moroccan cuisine beat Mexican in the final, taking 60% of the votes. Across the contest, which involved cuisine from around the world, Moroccan cuisine took more than 2.5 million votes from Pubity followers.
Some of the best-known Moroccan dishes include Ramsay’s favorite, rfissa, which is a chicken dish served with lentils, fenugreek seeds, msemmen and the spice blend Ras el-hanout. Bread is often served with it. While it only started appearing in cookbooks in the past 30 years, it is a traditional dish that has been cooked across the country for many years.
