- Social media erupted after the announcement
- Super Bowl LIX will be held at the SuperDome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025
- Lamar broke the news following a historically one-sided summer beef with Drake
Kendrick Lamar will play the Super Bowl LIX half-time show in New Orleans, next year. And the announcement has already got everybody on social media saying the same thing.
What was Drake thinking?
Let’s face it, this past summer has not been the greatest for Drizzy. Having the entire world belting out the lyrics to a song labeling you a paedophile for the last four months straight will probably have you wondering why you ever bothered engaging in a beef with someone armed with as much hate and lyrical ingenuity as Kendrick. But four months later, here we are, with Drake being diss tracked into the shadow realm and now having to face the reality of once again being called a paedophile in front of a TV audience of well over 100m people.
Keeping things short and sweet, Lamar captioned his announcement “Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans. February 2025” while adding not so subtly in the video “you know there’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round two’s.”
Naturally, social media exploded within seconds of the announcement video dropping.
The 59th Super Bowl will take place at the Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. It has been won by the Kansas City Chiefs for the last two years.
