Ariana Grande has already revealed that she will be taking more of an interest in her acting.

But could the pop star, 31, be destined to play one of Hollywood’s greatest movie legends?

Rumors have been rife that Grande – who was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her role as Glinda in Wicked – is set to play Audrey Hepburn, in a biopic about the Breakfast at Tiffany star’s life.

Hepburn – who won an Oscar for her breakout role in Roman Holiday – passed away at the age of 63 in 1993, after a short battle with cancer.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Grande was flattered by the speculation.

“Oh my goodness, why is everyone asking me this? You’re insane! You’re insane, you’re insane, you’re insane. You’re insane. I love you,” she told the outlet.

Grande continued, “I’ve always loved old-Hollywood glamour – like, Marilyn [Monroe] and Audrey have always been my references. I’ve always gravitated toward ’50s, ’60s silhouettes, and retro vintage.

“I can’t even think of a time when that wasn’t my vision board. But it’s been more fun to have more places to really do that. My stylist, Mimi [Cuttrell], and I have been leaning all the way.”

Grande later hinted that she would be open to playing Hepburn.

“That would have to be done so well and so perfectly… I don’t know,” she said. “That’s very kind.”

Is an Audrey Hepburn biopic in the works?

This isn’t the first time a biopic surrounding Audrey Hepburn has been discussed.

In early 2022, it was revealed that Rooney Mara was cast as the late actor.

While much of the movie’s details was kept under wraps, the film was supposed to be directed by Luca Guadagnino and be written by Academy Award nominee Michael Mitnick.

Two years later, in February 2024, Mara told Deadline that while progress on the project has slowed down, it was “not completely dead”.

“Luca is no longer going to be directing it, but the project is still very much alive,” she revealed. “I can’t say more than that right now.”

Elsewhere this week, Grande took her mother, Joan, to the Golden Globes.

And while the Dangerous Woman singer is known for her cheeky sense of humor, it seems she inherited it from her mom.

Chatting to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet at the event, Grande was eventually joined by Joan, who beamed with pride for her daughter.

But Grande’s nomination wasn’t the highlight of Joan’s night – as she also managed to meet Harrison Ford.

“No, I’m dead. That was my goal,” she said of the Indiana Jones actor. “We’ve pretty much done everything except Harrison Ford. And I don’t mean we did it… but you know what I mean.”

As her mom stumbled to correct herself, Grande’s mouth dropped and she placed her hand over her chest, before stepping to the side laughing.

Joan then jokingly asked the interviewer, “Can we delete that please?”
