Ariana Grande made her big screen debut last year, and earned a slew of nominations for her role as Glinda in Wicked.

And it seems that the actor, 31, is now being eyed up for various other parts.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grande – who has earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress at this year’s ceremony – has been offered a number of projects since the Jon M. Chu-directed movie-musical.

While she is yet to engage with any offers, the parts she has been presented with are reportedly a disaster wedding comedy, a female detective romp set in a Housewives-style reality show, and a Spaceballs sequel.

When asked about the roles, Grande told the outlet, “Well, I can neither confirm nor deny, but I’m blushing.

“I just think it’s such an important thing to stay connected to that guttural creative thing in my heart and my chest that wants to give itself over to something that screams at me and says, ‘Oh, that’s a really cool challenge.’ I have a thing, and when it goes off, I know.”

Grande also admitted that she knows the experience of being in Wicked will be hard to replicate – so isn’t going to try.

“I think it makes you hungry for something different,” she said.

Ariana Grande says her pop star persona is ‘a character’

Although Grande’s music career has earned her two Grammys, a Brit award and a string of number one hits, she continued that she also feels like she was playing a role.

“At a certain point, you get tired of that [pop star] character, because it is a character,” she admitted. “There are pieces of you and your story that are woven throughout your songwriting, but then, because of the way it travels and becomes sensationalized, it gets away from you.

“And beneath all of it is just a girl from Boca who loves art, and I think that’s why it’s been such a deeply healing gift to disappear into this character [Glinda] – to take off one mask and put on another.”

Of the gruelling audition process to play Glinda, the Dangerous Woman singer says she enjoyed the transformation of shedding her pop star skin.

“People who didn’t understand would say, ‘Oh, that’s so silly, they know how talented you are,’ and I was like, ‘That’s very nice, but Glinda requires so much. I have to be able to earn this and I don’t want it unless I’ve earned it,’ ” Grande added.

“It became this beautiful evolution of getting to know myself beneath it all. I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, I love this person underneath the drag.’”

But while she is currently taking a step back from music to focus on her acting career, that doesn’t mean that Grande isn’t plotting her next move in music – and would love to collaborate with Billie Eilish on a track.

When asked in an interview about the prospect of the pair releasing a song together, Grande exclaimed, “Oh my God, of course I would, I would in a heartbeat. I love her so much.

“She’s such a true friend, and a brilliant, brilliant artist, and just a really good person and I love her.”

Eilish recently held a Q&A for Grande following a screening of Wicked, and the gesture didn’t go unnoticed.

“Like, the fact that she did that and hosted that Q&A for me was such a kind thing, it was so sweet of her,” Grande continued. “It’s always nice when you are a fan of someone and they show you love back.

“She’s just very kind and truly a good person.”
