- Ariana Grande has wowed the world as Glinda in Wicked
- But while fans would love her to return to pop music, the singer wants her fans to ‘miss her for two seconds’ before she releases any new tracks
- However, Grande did confirm that a ‘special project’ exists

Ariana Grande has been a household name since her days on Nickelodeon.
And after two Grammy wins, the pop star has now pivoted into acting – with her movie, Wicked, earning her a slew of nominations at this year’s award shows.
But while fans celebrate her success, they can’t help but dream of Grande’s eventual return to music.
Although it will be a while before she heads back into the studio, Grande, 31, has revealed she has more new music coming very soon.
Speaking to the Variety Awards Circuit podcast, Grande confirmed that an extended version of her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine – which was released last year – “exists”.
Grande went on to explain that the project is “in the can” and will include a few new songs.
“It’s a very special project,” she said. “I’m out there so much right now. I want to let my children [fans] miss me for two seconds.
“I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point, but I’m still mulling over the timing in my head. It’s not the end of Peaches just yet, but she’s going in the closet for a minute.”
Grande continued, “The album is so concise, and I didn’t want to add songs just for the sake of it. The new tracks are short, but they really count.”
Ariana Grande debunks tour rumors

With the promise of unreleased music, fans may be hoping for some live performances from Grande pretty soon.
However, any hope of a world tour was quashed by her management in December.
In a statement posted to Twitter/X, Republic Records wrote, “There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all their continued love, support and excitement.”
Although a mini-tour seemed to be in the pipeline – with a string of shows apparently appearing on Ticketmaster – Grande herself has now put the rumors to bed.
“I was considering a mini-tour between the Wicked films, but I’ve decided to prioritize acting for now,” she told the podcast. “Performing will always be a part of my life, but I want to focus on this chapter of storytelling through film.”
Ariana Grande to stay in acting

So with both Wicked movies wrapped, what would Grande like to work on next?
Well, right now, she’s not too sure – and doesn’t have a dream role in mind.
“I have no idea,” she admitted. “Right now, I’m so focused on Wicked and taking it all in. But I know I want to stay in this world for a while.
“Acting feels like home to me in a way I didn’t expect. It’s such a joy to tell stories, whether it’s through music, film or comedy. I want to keep growing and exploring.”
She added, “I’m just grateful to be here, part of this magical story, and share it with the world. It’s more than I ever dreamed of.”
