Those who have been eagerly waiting for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake to hit the market will be excited to learn that some new details have surfaced.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake update
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is considered one of the best Assassin’s Creed games of all time. It was one of the best-selling games of 2013, and it managed to sell more than 11 million copies by 2014. The number continued to climb after that, with many still playing it today to enjoy the adventures of Edward Kenway.
The game is currently available on previous-gen consoles and PC, and since it’s more than ten years old, it doesn’t offer modern graphics or mechanics. However, because of its success on older platforms, Ubisoft decided to work on a Remake, which first appeared on the surface earlier this year. As Ubisoft was working on other games, many thought the AC: Black Flag Remake would arrive after a few years. However, new details reveal something else.
According to Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming, some new details and documentation sent to them confirm that the Remake, codenamed Obsidian, was supposed to be released around November 2025. This would have been a part of the Ubisoft roadmap for the Assassin’s Creed series, which involves the release of 10 AC titles in the next five years.
When can we expect to see it?
However, the company recently had to delay Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the next major installment in the series, to February 14. Because of this, the entire roadmap might change, but we can still hope to see Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake in early 2026.
At the moment, we don’t know what the Remake will offer. However, we can expect to see improved graphics, better mechanics, and some new content. All we can do for now is wait until next year for more details.
