Bridgerton is one of the biggest shows on TV.

And although fans will have to wait until 2026 for season four to be released, some of the show’s stars are spilling the beans on what we can expect in the next series.

Nicola Coughlan – who plays Penelope Featherington – was central to the plot in season three, and viewers tuned in to watch her finally marry her dream man, Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

Not only that, but the pair went on to have a son, who is titled as the new Lord Featherington.

Coughlan, 38, is thrilled to be playing a mother in season four.

“I’ve got a super cute baby that is my doppelgänger,” she smiled in a recent interview. “When I saw the baby, I was like, ‘That looks so like me!’

“It’s crazy. I was showing my baby pictures to his parents, and we get on well.”

Once a Featherington, Coughlan also revealed that even off-camera, she has officially become a Bridgerton.

“She’s now Penelope Bridgerton, and that’s the name on the trailer when I go in – it’s quite cute,” she smiled. “She’s very much in the family now. It’s very, very sweet. She’s graduated to Bridgerton status.

“It feels like a totally different energy this year, which is the fun thing about the show, because it changes so much depending on each couple. So there’s a lot of new people in, and they’re really fantastic.”

Nicola Coughlan previously spoke about motherhood on Bridgerton

It’s not the first time Coughlan has opened up about season four of Bridgerton.

The star also sung the praises of the new central characters, Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, who play Benedict Bridgerton and his new love interest, Sophie Baek.

“Luke and Yerin are our leads this year, they’re amazing,” Coughlan admitted. “They did a big Valentine’s event this year and they’re having the best time. They love each other, they’re having so much fun.

“And I get to be quite chill, I pop in like once a week, do a little something, have a cute baby. It’s great!”

Luke Newton also weighs in on Bridgerton season four

Coughlan’s on-screen husband also weighed in on the new season.

Newton, 32, assured fans that we will still get our ‘Polin’ fix – as we’ll get a closer look into the couple’s marriage.

Calling the scenes “really great”, the actor explained, “We’ve seen all the twists and turns to the drama of their relationship last season.

“You don’t often see it on screen of just two people living happily ever after – and just that being what it is.”
