- Dad thinks he has set an impossible challenge
- Son doesn’t think he can make the challenge either
- This parenting fail will cost the dad dearly
It should be parenting 101: never – ever – underestimate your child. Especially if there is a reward involved.
But one dad has clearly not learned this lesson previously and finds out in a financially painful way.
The set-up is clear. The dad has his bank card against a door. His son must catch it as it slides down with his forehead.
The dad clearly says that if his son can catch the card, he can buy whatever he wants on it. By his tone of voice, the dad is confident that his money is safe.
But his son has other ideas and manages to complete the challenge and stops the card.
The dad reacts with expletive-fuelled horror, as he realises the mistake he has just made and that he now has to make good on the promise – it has after all been caught on camera by his (we presume) wife, who is laughing hysterically.
We don’t know what the son wants, but we do know that the dad is going to be paying for it for some time to come – literally and metaphorically!
