Everybody’s favorite toys return to the big screen in 2026, with the fifth instalment of the Toy Story film series. Directed by Andrew Stanton, who also directed Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo and WALL-E, Toy Story 5 will see Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang on a new adventure. While details on the plot are being kept under wraps, it’s been reported that the toys will face the threat of technology. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are both reprising their roles.

Pixar CCO Pete Docter confirmed Incredibles 3 at the D23 Expo event in August 2024. It’s also slated for 2026, marking the third chapter in the Parr family’s superhero saga. Director Brad Bird, who directed the first two films, is set to return. In October 2016, Pixar swapped the release dates of Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2, meaning Bird lost one full year of production. And with that, lots of ideas didn’t make it into the final film. He told Entertainment Weekly, “…if an idea didn’t work quickly, you had to just kill the darling and move onto the next. And I killed like a city full of darlings”.

Hoppers (2026)

Hoppers is another new feature film set for release in Spring 2026. It is written and directed by Daniel Chong, best known as the creator of Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears. The story follows a young girl, Mabel, who can transfer her mind into a robot beaver with the goal of going undercover in the animal kingdom. It certainly sounds interesting. Teaser clips shown at the D23 Expo revealed a unique style of animation and it has an impressive cast, featuring the voices of Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan and Piper Curda.
