- Mike Danna was the Chiefs hero after blocking a last-second Denver Broncos Field Goal attempt
- The Chiefs are now 9-0 for the season after coming from behind to rip victory away from Denver
- Reigning Super Bowl champions have won their last 15 straight games
The Kansas City Chiefs have sent every fan of every other NFL team into a collective meltdown after extending their undefeated start to the season to 9-0 in the most dramatic circumstances possible.
With the Chiefs leading 16-14 against the Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium, Denver had a chance to inflict a first defeat of the season on the unbeaten Super Bowl champions with just a second left on the clock.
But, as Denver looked to Field Goal their way to a huge victory on the road, Mike Danna shut out the lights just as Will Lutz thought he was securing the W from 35 yards.
Cue delirious celebrations from the Chiefs, who had found themselves trailing for much of the game after Denver’s rookie quarterback Bo Nix had scored two touchdowns in the first half.
After Patrick Mahomes had found Travis Kelce in the end zone in the third quarter, Kansas City turned the game around, with the tight end joining Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez as the franchise’s all time touchdown leader in the process.
However, no one was in the mood to appreciate the Chiefs never-say-die attitude, as NFL fans across the country collectively went insane over yet another victory for the back-to-back Super Bowl champs.
One of the biggest tests of the season awaits the champions next week, however, as the Chiefs travel to the AFC East topping Buffalo Bills (8-2), who, after their 30-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts today, are on a five game win streak.
