- Dexter: Resurrection is the sequel to Dexter: New Blood
- Michael C. Hall will reprise his role as Dexter Morgan
- The show will take place in New York

Fans have eagerly awaited Dexter: Resurrection, ready to see the return of the anti-hero serial killer in action.
Dexter Morgan’s fate was left uncertain after the finale of Dexter: New Blood. Dexter: Resurrection becomes even more intriguing with the prequel Dexter: Original Sin now airing on Paramount+.
New Blood captivated audiences, drawing 8 million viewers and becoming Showtime’s most-watched series of all time in January 2022. The original series, which aired from 2006 to 2013, inspired three spin-offs, cementing its legacy as a cultural phenomenon.
Dexter: Resurrection was confirmed in July 2024, with filming beginning in January 2025. At San Diego Comic-Con, Michael C. Hall revealed that Resurrection will “pick up right where we left off.” Hall is set to reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan, who started a new life as Jim Lindsay in Iron Lake during New Blood. Meanwhile, Dexter’s social media accounts have teased sneak peeks and shared casting updates for Resurrection.
Created by Clive Phillips, who also developed New Blood, Resurrection will hopefully address the cliffhangers left for characters like Dexter’s teenage son Harrison (Jack Alcott) Sheriff Angela Bishop (Julia Jones), and the serial killer himself.
