- Nobody Wants This will be returning to Netflix for a second season
- But when will the show be released, and who is in the cast?
- Here’s everything we know so far about season two of Nobody Wants This

When Nobody Wants This burst onto Netflix in September, one thing was for certain – everybody wanted this.
Scoring a slew of awards nominations – including a Critics’ Choice Television Award win for Adam Brody, who plays Noah Roklov in the series – season one of the rom-com became the most-watched English speaking show on the streaming service in its first week, with 15.9 million views.
And now fans of Nobody Wants This are in luck – because season two is officially on the way.
Here’s everything we know about the second series of Nobody Wants This so far.
When will Nobody Wants This season two be released?

While we don’t have an exact date just yet, fans of the show don’t have long to wait until the second series.
October 10 last year, Netflix renewed the series for a second season – and like season one, we imagine that season two will also have ten 20-30 minute episodes.
Just four months later on February 7, Jackie Tohn (who plays Esther in the show) revealed that filming is scheduled to begin on March 3, 2025 – with the second season also premiering this year.
Who will star in Nobody Wants This season two?

All our favorite characters will be back for season two of Nobody Wants This.
Joining Brody once more as the main star of the show, Kristen Bell will be resuming her role as sex and dating podcaster Joanne.
Her younger sister Morgan is played by Justine Lupe; while Timothy Simons takes on the part of Sasha, Noah’s older brother, and Tohn will take up her position as his wife, Esther.
Joanne and Morgan’s parents, Lynn and Henry, are portrayed by Stephanie Faracy and Michael Hitchcock; and Tovah Feldshuh and Paul Ben-Victor play Bina and Ilan Roklov, Noah and Sasha’s mom and dad.
Others in the returning cast are thought to be:
- Emily Arlook as Rebecca, Noah’s Jewish almost fiancée
- Sherry Cola as Ashley, Joanne’s best friend and podcast agent – and the woman who inadvertently set her up with Noah
- Shiloh Bearman as Miriam Roklov, Sasha and Esther’s daughter
- Stephen Tobolowsky as Rabbi Cohen, the head rabbi and Noah’s boss at the Temple Chai
- D’Arcy Carden as Ryann, Joanne’s friend
- Ryan Hansen as Kyle, a former fling of Joanne’s
- Leslie Grossman as Rabbi Shira
Of course, what would a new season be without some new additions to the cast?
Miles Fowler will play Lenny – one of Noah’s Matzah Ballers basketball squad teammates who gets set up with Morgan.
And fans went wild when it was announced that Leighton Meester will also appear on the show. Featuring as Abby in season two, the character is described as Joanne’s middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.
Meester already has several links to Nobody Wants This. Not only did she star in Gossip Girl – with Bell voicing the titular character – but she has been married to Brody since 2014.
What will happen in Nobody Wants This season two?

With only ten episodes to binge, we’re hoping some of the big questions from season one will be answered in the next series of Nobody Wants This.
Episode ten had a lot of drama. After Noah received the offer to become head Rabbi, Joanne realized that she couldn’t convert to Judaism purely because she loves Noah, and tells her beau they have to split (boo).
But, of course, Noah wasn’t going to take no for an answer – and viewers watched as he chased after Joanne and told her he wants to be with her more than anything else.
While that may prompt viewers to understand that Noah will step down as head Rabbi, creator Erin Foster revealed that season two will focus on Joanne’s conversion to Judaism… which we can only assume means that Noah takes up the position AND the pair stay together (or is that just wishful thinking?!).
As is to be expected, there are bound to be more obstacles in their way – as Noah’s mother and sister-in-law Esther have taken a disliking to Joanne and Morgan; and there’s also the teaser of fireworks between Joanne and her nemesis, Abby.
We also left Morgan and Sasha in the beginnings of a flirty friendship – so who knows what will happen there?
Is Nobody Wants This based on a true story?
While a lot of the story is fictional, Nobody Wants This is loosely based on the early beginnings of writer Erin Foster’s relationship with her now-husband, Simon Tikhman.
Like Noah, Tikhman is Jewish – and Foster (who, FYI, also hosts The World’s First Podcast with her sister, Sara) converted to the religion so they could be married.
Foster originally wanted to play the role of Joanne herself – but on Netflix’s insistence, the part went to Bell.
Is there a trailer for Nobody Wants This season two?
As of yet, there is no trailer for season two of Nobody Wants This – but as soon as one is available, we’ll be sure to update this section.
