The Golden Globes 2025 are heading our way, with the event set to take place in early January.
Nominations were announced in late 2024 and with Christmas and New Year both out of the way, it’s full steam ahead into awards season.
This annual awards show is a vital part of the Hollywood award season. They celebrate the very best of that year’s film and TV output – but what do we know so far about next year’s ceremony?

How to watch the 2025 Golden Globes
The 2025 Golden Globes ceremony will air live on CBS and Paramount+ via Showtime. The show will start at 5pm PT and 8pm ET. For viewers in the United Kingdom, that means the action will start at around 1am in the morning.

If you don’t have access to a live TV, you can stream the show live on Paramount+ but only if you have a premium account. Those with an ad-supported account will have to wait until the show becomes available on-demand a day later.
Unfortunately, there’s no official channel that will be showing the 2025 Golden Globes ceremony in the UK. However, live updates will be posted onto the Golden Globes website and its official social media channels.

The nominations for the 2025 Golden Globes were unveiled on Monday 9 December by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut. Below, you’ll find key highlights of this year’s nominees.

The 97th annual ceremony will be held on 5 January 2025 at 5 pm Pacific Standard Time, 8 pm Eastern Standard Time and will be aired on CBS.

Where will the Golden Globes be held?
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association-backed event will roll out the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
When will the nominees be announced?
Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the 27 categories on CBS on Monday, 9 December.
What is new at the 2025 Golden Globes?
There are two new categories at the ceremony. These new inclusions are Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy.
What other categories are there?
The main ones are Best Motion Picture, Best Television Series and Best Television Limited Series. This award show is unique in that other big ceremonies have a separate section for comedy and drama.
Who is hosting the 2025 Golden Globes?
Comedian Nikki Glaser will be the master of ceremonies. She is following off from Jo Koy, who did the honours in 2024.

Of the appointment, Glaser said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favourite nights of television, and now I get a front row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage)”
“The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows but encourages to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God, I hope so).
“It’s an exciting yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes).”
Who else is presenting?
The full list of presenters for the 2025 Golden Globes was unveiled in early January 2025. Among the many names confirmed to dish out trophies is Andrew Garfield, Anya Taylor-Joy and Anthony Mackie.

Aubrey Plaza, Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley will also appear, alongside Moana 2 voice actors Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Other stars set to pop up at the show include Colman Domingo, Catherine O’Hara, Colin Farrell, Jeff Goldblum and Ke Huy Quan.
Any Golden Globe winners named?
Viola Davis has been named as the e Cecil B. DeMille Award winner. Plus, sitcom legend Ted Danson will get The Carol Burnett Award for his services to television.
