He’s the cheeky Hollywood A-Lister who loves a practical joke or two.

But now football fans are worried Ryan Reynolds is pulling a prank on them.

While the actor, 47, is continuing to make movies, he’s also the co-owner of Welsh soccer team, Wrexham FC.

And now followers of the club are convinced that Reynolds has cast one of his players in his new movie.

Sharing the trailer for the latest Deadpool film – in which he plays the titular superhero character – Reynolds and his co-star Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine, appear to team up to fight a common enemy. “Found the guy who killed Bambi’s mom,” Reynolds captioned the post.

But cryptically, striker Ollie Palmer replied, “If you squint..”

Sure enough, at the beginning of the clip, Wolverine is standing at a bar – and as Deadpool approaches him, another man can be seen standing in the background.

While this may be innocent enough, the guy is tall, with dark hair and a beard – not unlike Palmer, 32.  Meanwhile, the new Deadpool and Wolverine trailer has dropped. And the villain has been revealed for the Deadpool-Wolverine film.

Quick off the mark, one fan screenshotted the exchange and shared it on social media – with the consensus being that it is very possible that Palmer has a cameo in the third installment of the Marvel film, which will hit theaters on July 26.

Palmer joined Wrexham from AFC Wimbledon in January 2022 – 11 months after the club was taken over by Reynolds and his business partner It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and actor, Rob McElhenney.

The duo paid £2 million ($2.5 million) for their new venture – and have taken it to a League One promotion, which is the club’s first back-to-back promotion in its 159-year history.
