Hold onto your investigative skills, because Enola Holmes 3 is in production! On 22 April, Netflix broke the internet with a photo of Millie Bobby Brown (Enola) and Louis Partridge (Lord Tewksbury) behind the scenes. The streamer has two other Enola Holmes movies which follow the books by Nancy Springer.

For those who don’t know, Enola Holmes is a series of books by Springer that follow Sherlock Holmes’ little sister, Enola, as she solves mysteries, beginning with the mystery of her missing mother. The third novel, Enola Holmes and the Case of the Bizarre Bouquets, is likely to coincide with the plot of the third movie.

In a short recap: the second film follows Enola as she tries to solve the mystery of a missing girl named Sarah Chapman. After in a post-credits scene, the film introduces Dr John Watson, who is likely to be at the center of the mystery of Enola Holmes 3.

Now that we have confirmation of number three, here is how fans reacted.

How did fans react to the Enola Holmes 3 news?

Obviously fans are elated with the news of Enola Holmes being in production. Previously news of the third instalment was very limited, which left little hope for Brown’s return.

However, Netflix posting a photo of Brown and Partridge on set has calmed fans down.

In a post they wrote: “Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge spotted behind the scenes of Enola Holmes 3. NOW IN PRODUCTION!”

A promotional video also showed the co-stars awkwardly driving on a golf cart. Awkwardly, Partridge offers Brown flowers for his bad driving. Also, the flowers are a nod to the third book…we think.

Although the photo was not of the two in costume, fans of the franchise are elated for the update.

On X, one fan said, “Enola Holmes 3 is officially underway, can’t wait”.

Another responded with a GIF of an excited Enola. We share the excitement, honestly.

A third said, “WE CHEERED OMFG!”

Since Enola Holmes 2

While some users were unaware a second film existed (it came out in 2022), one fan referred to a post of theirs from 2022, just after the second movie came out.

In a short post, they said, “W”.

Excitedly, another user said, “Enola Holmes is going to be better than ever, I’m seated and can’t wait to see it next year.”

Similarly, another fan of the franchise said, and in all caps: “ENOLA HOLMES IS COMING BACK TO MEEEEEEE OMGGG I’VE NEVER BEEN SAD”.

Life is worth living when a new movie or a season of your favorite show comes out.

Happily another fan cheered for Enola Holmes, also in all caps.

Not impressed

On the other hand, others weren’t impressed with the idea of a third film. In one post, a user said, “3???? I believe I speak for everyone when I say we won’t be watching”.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another user said, “What’s there to tell? lol, should’ve ended at Enola Holmes 1”.
