Still, in 2021 Business Insider reported that Enola Holmes made their list of the Biggest Netflix Original Movies of All Time. Enola Holmes was ranked at number 7 with 78 million in total viewership.

With Enola Holmes 3 well into development now, here is an important recap of what happened in the third book. Spoilers will be ahead!
What happened in Enola Holmes 3?

Enola Holmes: The Case of the Bizzare Bouquet was published in January 2008 by Penguin Young Readers. This book series generally follows a different mystery in each book that is solved or investigated by Enola Holmes. What’s On Netflix reported that filming was due to start in “early 2025,” for Enola Holmes 3 although it doesn’t appear that has happened yet.
The outlet also reported that the production was moved to “mid-April 2025” according to a “new production listing”.
Since the movie ended with Watson being introduced, it could follow the book plot. Now since the plot details are unknown, here is a recap of the third book’s plot.
Enola Holmes’ book three plot
In the book, Enola begins in London where she is hiding from her brothers Sherlock and Mycroft. Her decision to run away was promoted by Mycroft’s insistence to send her to finishing school, just like in the first movie. The young detective learns of Watson’s disappearance and promises to solve the case herself.
At this point, Enola has kept up her disguises in London having needed to hide from her brothers. She disguises herself and visits Watson’s wife, Mary, calling herself Viola Everseau.
The clue is in the name of the book and the flowers! Mary has received some flowers and because this is in the Victorian times, they are superstitious. The bouquet represents a few themes and a foreshadowing of things like death, which unsettles Mary. Enola has extensive knowledge of flowers thanks to her mother’s teachings.
A flower shop discovery
A determined Enola tracks down the flower sender to a costume shop owned by a woman named Pertelote. Pertelote has a sister, Flora, who is unsettling. A sneaky Enola rents a room close by to watch the women. She finds out that Flora’s face was eaten by rats when she was young after her sister did not watch her properly. Where Watson comes in is when Enola finds out he was the one who signed off on sending Flora to an insane asylum.
At that point, Enola realizes that Flora tricked staff from the asylum into capturing Watson and admitting him under a different name. It is not questioned because Flora murdered her brother-in-law in secret so nobody suspects anything.
Following her discovery, Enola codes a message into the newspaper telling her brother Sherlock where to find Watson. She manages to keep her identity hidden from her brothers in the process.
Watson is rescued
After Watson is rescued with Enola and Sherlock’s help, her brother sends her a thank you note in the paper, unaware it is Enola who aided in his rescue. By the book’s end, her brothers still have not found out her secret identity. A young Enola remains vigilant and stays in the shadows in London, wanting to start up her agency again, but still aware she could be discovered at any point.
Has Millie Bobby Brown signed off on Enola Holmes 3?

Officially Brown has not signed on for the third installment of the film. However, since she is Enola, it seems likely that she will return to reprise her role. Deadline reported in November 2024 that she was signed on as a star and producer with her company.
