Fresh from wrapping the US leg of her Sweet n’ Sour tour, Sabrina Carpenter is having anything other than a restful break from work – as she has reportedly split from her boyfriend of just over a year, Barry Keoghan.

According to sources, the pair are “taking a break” after Saltburn actor Keoghan, 32, was seen to be “getting cosy” with influencer Breckie Hill.

While the rumors are yet to be confirmed by either party, Carpenter’s legion of loyal fans have made their feelings known on social media.

What did fans have to say?

Taking to Twitter/X, many labelled Keoghan “insane” for allegedly being unfaithful to his partner.

“Imagine fumbling Miss Polly Pocket when you were lucky enough to even get a CHANCE boy pls,” wrote one, while another added, “Cheating on Sabrina Carpenter is wild, especially when you look like Barry Keoghan.”

Others referenced Carpenter’s hits from her sixth studio album.

After the pair starred in the music video for her chart-topping single Please Please Please, one joked, “Honestly if Barry Keoghan cheated on Sabrina Carpenter after ‘please please please’, she should be able to kill him on stage at her next show.”

Another noted how Carpenter, 25, performs a “freaky position” during every performance of her track, Juno.

“‘Have you ever tried this one?’ And it’s a public beheading,” one added.

Even Carpenter’s song of the summer, Espresso, got a mash-up with The Banshees of Inisherin – the movie for which Keoghan was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars.

Others were more skeptical. “She’s using the words ‘break’ because she knows she still has to release Bed Chem as a single before she can detach completely,” speculated one.

‘Irish men love to cheat!’

While others used the opportunity to shoot their shot.

“Sabrina Carpenter if you read this, I’m free on Thursday night and would like to hang out. Please respond to this and then hang out with me on Thursday night when I’m free,” one begged.

After Keoghan was recently announced to be playing a Beatle in the upcoming Sam Mendes biopic, one fan put his infidelity down to method acting.

“He’s really getting into his upcoming role as Ringo!!!,” they said.

But perhaps the wisest tweet was from Irish singer CMAT.

The Mercury Prize nominee appeared to have prophesied Carpenter and Keoghan’s relationship at the start of the year – thanks to her own experience with Irish men.

Keoghan shut down previous split rumors with Carpenter

This isn’t the first time the couple have allegedly broken up.

Over the summer, the pair were plagued by split rumors – which Keoghan successfully shut down thanks to his TikTok activity.

He also dropped clues that he was still dating Carpenter in another video.

In an interview with Dazed, the star was asked what he would be if he wasn’t an actor.

“I think like an astronaut… do you know what I mean?” he replied.

While the reply is innocent enough, Carpenter recently performed at the VMAs – and was surrounded on stage by, you guessed it, astronauts.

A rundown of Carpenter and Keoghan’s relationship

After meeting in September last year, Keoghan and Carpenter were spotted having a romantic dinner together three months later, and made their first public appearance at W’s Grammys after-party in February.

The actor was later seen supporting his girlfriend as she performed at a string of festivals around the world, including Coachella – where she referenced his role in Saltburn by changing her outro to her song, Nonsense, while he looked on.

“Made his knees so weak, he had to spread mine. He’s drinkin’ my bath water like it’s red wine. Coachella, see you back here when I headline,” she sang.

The pair later attended the Met Gala together, Carpenter’s 25th birthday party, and Keoghan starred in the music video for her hit record, Please Please,Please.
