It’s one of the cheesiest shows on Netflix.

But if anyone was going to be on board with Emily in Paris, it was going to be the French president.

In an interview with Variety, Emmanuel Macron, 46, opened up about his love for the show, which stars Lily Collins.

And while Macron had nothing but praise for the series, he did have a bone to pick with producers – that the next installment is set in Italy!

“Emily in Paris is super positive in terms of attractiveness for the country,” Macron told the outlet. “For my own business, it’s a very good initiative.

“We will fight hard, and we will ask them to remain in Paris! Emily in Paris in Rome doesn’t make sense.”

Macron’s wife Brigitte, 71, will also have a cameo appearance in the new series.

“It’s just a few minutes, but I think it was a very good moment for her,” said the president. “I think it’s good for the image of France.”

And when asked if he had ever been invited on the show, Macron laughed, “I’m less attractive than Brigitte!”

Macron praises Taylor Swift

Elsewhere in the article, Macron addressed the impact of Taylor Swift playing her shows in the French capital.

The Karma singer, 34, performed four shows at the Paris La Défense Arena from May 9.

“She’s one of the few artists who are able to gather so many people,” commented Macron. “Happily, the concerts in Paris went well. For French people, for all generations and for the economy in the cities where she appeared, it was absolutely unique.

“This is a phenomenon.”

In January, furious Parisians scrawled graffiti across the shutters of a café used in Emily in Paris as backlash grew against tourists overwhelming the city’s neighborhoods.

Locals have dubbed the hoards of fans visiting the capital as ‘l’invasion des imbéciles’ – which translates to ‘the invasion of the morons’.
