After being plagued with split rumors last month, it’s good to see that the romance between Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams is as strong as ever.

Not only did Abrams, 25, shut the whispers down at the Grammys on February 2, but the singer has also opened up about her relationship with Mescal in a new interview.

While she doesn’t mention the Gladiator II actor, 29, by name, Abrams revealed her opinions on a “healthy relationship”.

She told Cosmopolitan, “What I love about a healthy relationship is that your life doesn’t radically change. You just fit into each other in a way that feels positively challenging and deeply supportive – it’s like a place to land.”

When asked what her version of love feels like, Abrams – who is the daughter of director JJ Abrams – continued, “Home. My current form of love feels like home no matter where I am. If you’ve ever felt unsafe in a relationship, it’s really evident when you do feel safe in one.

“Women are fed so many voices when it comes to what love should be or feel like. But in my experience, love feels best when you’re asking yourself: What do you want? What is hot for you? What is sexy to you? Where do you feel safest?”

Although she has been dating Mescal since June last year, Abrams revealed that she will not be spending time with him this Valentine’s Day.

The up and coming star will be taking a break from her tour – but still throwing herself headfirst into writing another hit.

Abrams continued, “I will be touring in Germany, but I actually have a few days off. My plan right now is to fly to Paris and hopefully my producer Aaron Dessner and I will write a song we love in his studio in France.

“All of my songs are love letters in one way or another, so that’s my Valentine.”

Why did fans think Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams had broken up?

In January, Mescal was spotted enjoying a meal with Abrams at London restaurant, Jolene.

But far from a romantic day out, the evening reportedly ended in literal tears.

“They were sitting at a table opposite each other and Paul had his head in his hands as Gracie just sat there crying,” an onlooker revealed. “She was crying so much that he then started to cry too.

“She eventually got up and walked out of the restaurant while they were halfway through their meal and he was left to pay the bill before leaving shortly afterwards.”

They added, “Everyone saw it all go down, it looked like a break-up, we were just shocked at how public it all was.”

While we’ll never know what the tearful meeting was about, it’s good to see the pair are still as strong as ever.
