Thankfully, fans don’t have to wait too long to explore Squid Game season 3 although many are wondering just how many more episodes they’ll get before the show comes to an end.
We already know series creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk filmed season 3 back-to-back with season 2. That series landed on Netflix on 26 December 2024 and quickly shot to the top of the streamer’s viewing charts.

In it, we meet season 1 hero Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) once more. After reluctantly emerging victorious from his first stint in the game, he’s found himself back in it with a new goal.
This time, he’s dedicated to convincing his fellow contestants that a huge sum of money isn’t the answer to their life problems. However, it’s easier said than done.

Joining him is the mysterious Hwang In-ho – or player 001 – who seems determined to undermine Gi-hun’s every move. Why? Well, it might have something to do with the fact that he’s actually the game’s big-bad Front Man hiding in plain site – without his iconic mask, that is.
All of this comes to a head in the final moments of season 2, leaving fans more than ready to continue Gi-hun’s story. So when can we expect Squid Game season 3 to arrive – and how many episodes will it have?

Squid Game season 3: How many episodes will it have?
An official number of episodes for Squid Game season 3 has yet to be revealed by Netflix.
However, some outlets believe that the show will consist of six episodes. This information was apparently gleaned from a Netflix data leak that occurred in early February 2025.
However, before you get too excited, it’s worth taking this information with a heady dose of salt. After all, Netflix has yet to make any official confirmation regarding season 3’s episode count.
That said, if the show’s third outing does feature six episodes, that might please fans. On Reddit, the overall consensus seems to be that viewers would like the show’s final outing to have at least six, hour-long episodes.
When is it out?
Squid Game season 3 will debut on Netflix worldwide on 27 June 2025.
The news was made official by the streamer on 30 January, shortly after Squid Game season 2 had arrived.
