Squid Game season 3 is keeping its plot details close to its chest. That said, we know that the series will end the show for good.

As teased in new imagery, season 3 promises to be its darkest yet. Dong-hyuk has ditched its rainbow-hued tones for something more sombre and sinister.

Elsewhere, Netflix has further teased the show’s new robotic threat Cheol-Sul, laying the groundwork for even more bloodthirsty games.

This new killer doll was first revealed via Netflix’s social media platforms earlier this year.

Squid Game season 2 debuted on Netflix on 26 December 2024 and instantly shot to the top of the streamer’s charts to become one of its most-watched new shows.

The series picked up a few years after the events of Squid Game season 1. In this South Korean thriller, cash-strapped gamblers must survive a series of playground games to win a life-changing cash prize. However, if they lose, they die.

New episodes found Seong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-jae), the reluctant winner of the show’s first Squid Game contest, dedicating his life to finding a way to stop the games from happening.

His quest leads him to realise that the only way to make any real change is to re-enter a new Squid Game with a new mindset. Once inside, he makes it his goal to convince players that money isn’t the answer to their problems.

Unfortunately, his plan is scuppered when the show’s villain – the masked Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) joins him inside the game, undermining his every move.
