The BAFTAs are one of the most prestigious awards in the global entertainment industry and this year’s ceremony will mark the biggest night of the year for British film.
The full list of nominees for the 2025 awards have been released with Conclave leading the charge having received the most nominations, including one for best film.
Edward Berger’s thriller about the selection of a new pope is up against the likes of The Brutalist and Anora in the category.

Anna Higgs, BAFTA Film Committee Chair, said of the nominations “It’s been a super strong year for films. There’s a particularly strong range of films. “You’ve got your dramas that are traditionally seen as awards movies, but we’ve got thrillers, musicals, biopics, horror, and comedy all in just the top 10 most nominated movies.”
Movie fans won’t have long to wait to find out who takes home a shiny BAFTA statuette, with the awards show scheduled for 16 February.

How to watch the 2025 BAFTAS
The BAFTAS return to London’s iconic Southbank Centre for third year running, having switched to the venue in 2023. Prior to this, the Royal Albert Hall had hosted the show since 2017.
Viewers in the US can watch the show live through streaming service, Britbox. It will be aired at 11am PT/2pm ET.
In the UK it will be broadcasted on BBC One at 7pm GMT and also be streamed live on BBC iPlayer for those who prefer to watch it online, or on the go.
Highlights and interviews will also be shared on BAFTAs YouTube channel following the ceremony. On 15 January they live-streamed the 2025 nominations from the channel.
Who is hosting the ceremony?

Scottish actor David Tennant best known for playing Doctor Who, marks his second consecutive year as host, following his role in the 2024 ceremony.
Jane Millichip, CEO at BAFTA, said: “We couldn’t be happier that David Tennant is returning to host the EE BAFTA Film Awards in 2025. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, and his performance this year was simply outstanding – warm, witty, whip-smart, and with a delightful touch of mischief.”

Tennant, who is no stranger to hosting duties, having hosted multiple TV specials in the UK, had this to say:
“It’s a lovely thing to be asked to do. It’s a huge privilege and it’s very giddy-making. But I’ve sort of got a bit of a free pass because nobody expects me to be any good at it”, he told UK newspaper Metro.
