IShowSpeed is well known for his love of long-running anime One Piece, and now he has gained permission to stream it on his channel – a privilege few content creators have been given.
In a recent post on his channel, IShowSpeed talked about how he has spoken to one of the producers of One Piece – who he didn’t name – and that he had been given permission to stream the whole of the series on his YouTube channel, without it being taken down.
This is a rare privilege for IShowSpeed. Usually, streamers can only stream other series as part of a special campaign. However, he says he has been whitelisted so can stream without fear of any repercussions, adding he is the first creator to get such a permission for One Piece.
One Piece love
IShowSpeed has repeatedly spoken of his love for One Piece, and often appears in clothing with designs that reference characters in it, such as Monkey D. Luffy. He also has various items of One Piece memorabilia and merchandise. He has said the show has helped him to get through times, such as the days of the Covid lockdowns in 2020.
One Piece is one of the longest-running animes in Japan. It first appeared in the magazine Shonen Jump in 1997, with a TV adaptation coming two years later. The animated series runs to this day and, at the time of writing, 1,122 episodes have been produced, as well as various films and television specials over the years.
So while there is a wealth of material to choose from, what his plans are for his newly gained rights haven’t yet been revealed. However, knowing the streamer’s flair for big stunts, he will have something up his sleeve.
IShowSpeed – streamer of the year
IShowSpeed has a lot to live up to, having been named as Streamer of the Year at the recent Streamer Awards 2024. In addition to Streamer of the Year, he was named as Best International Streamer and won the Get Off Your A** Award, which recognizes the best IRL streamers.
This steaming success has also brought financial rewards for IShowSpeed, and he now has a huge net worth.
