What loss could Kelly Clarkson be referring to?
Clarkson could be referring to her divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The Breakaway singer married him in 2013. Their split was finalised in 2022.
Of his encouragement for her to do the talk show, Clarkson told PEOPLE magazine in 2019, “My husband is a really good salesman on ideas. He’s just really good at pointing out things that maybe will push me out of my comfort zone, which is why we’re really great partners in life as well.”
Together, they welcomed daughter River Rose and son Remy. Both kids have performed on her television show.
Clarkson has gained much social media traction for her ‘Kellyoke’ segment, which sees her take on classic and contemporary pop songs from other acts.
In 2023, she opened up to Andy Cohen about singing Dolly Parton’s classic I Will Always Love You the day her divorce was finalised.
“I’m looking at Dolly Parton and I’m like, I had just gotten my text of like, ‘Hey, your divorce is final, like you’ve both signed,’ ” Clarkson said . “Like, right before getting on a stage to sing I Will Always Love You. I was like, ‘Screw you, universe.’ That’s the timing?”
