Fans are already excited about the upcoming return of Daredevil to our screens next year, and Marvel boss Kevin Feige has given an update that will further excite them.

Second season

Speaking at the D23 event in Brazil, Feige confirmed that there will be a second season of Daredevil: Born Again and that production will begin on it around the time the first season drops in March next year.

Talking to Omelete, Feige said: “We’re really excited to premiere the first season next year, when we’ll be filming the second season. We like the idea of developing series for multiple seasons – after all, that’s one of the coolest things about television.”

This is great news for fans of the show, which will have a nine-episode run in its first season. Recently, several high-profile shows on streaming services have been axed after one season, leaving fans angered after they had invested in the show.

Daredevil: Born Again is a continuation from the previous series shown on Netflix. The synopsis from the show gives an indication of what it will focus on: “In Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”

Fits in plans

The plans for Daredevil: Born Again also fit into the wider plan for the MCU in movies and TV shows going forward. Feige recently said that Marvel will be putting out two films and three series per year from 2026, with a focus on quality rather than quantity. However, 2025 will be a bumper year for Marvel with three movies and six series on the release slate.
