Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill has confirmed that he will be lending his voice talents to the forthcoming revival of Regular Show, resuming the role he played in the original series.

Only one Skips

Hamill, who might be iconic for his roles as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films and The Joker in Batman The Animated Series, but he also had a well-loved role in Regular Show. In the Cartoon Network show, he voiced Skips, the immortal Yeti.

In a recent panel discussion at the Fan Expo Chicago, reported by Popverse, Hamill was asked about Regular Show and whether he was returning. “William Salyers [who voiced Rigby on Regular Show] DMed me. He said ‘Did you hear the news? I’m just worried, are you in or not?’ As if I’ve somehow outgrown them. I wrote him back saying, ‘There is only one Skips, and he’s very much looking forward to meeting with his old pal Rigby.’ He sent me a gif of somebody dancing with joy.”

Regular Show ran for eight seasons on Cartoon Network from 2010-17. The show focused on the misadventures of two 23-year-old slackers, Mordecai, a blue jay, and Rigby, a racoon. They were both groundskeepers at a park but would spend most of their days trying to find ways to slack off and relieve their boredom – often by playing video games – much to the annoyance of their boss, Benson, who was a gumball machine.

Revival

It was confirmed earlier in the year by Warner Bros that the show was being revived. The show’s creator and original showrunner, J.G. Quintel was confirmed to be involved with the revival, but initially it wasn’t confirmed if any of the original voice actors would be returning too – but now we know that at least some are coming back.
