Millie Bobby Brown has been making headlines, and this is one you wouldn’t think would be true. The 21-year-old dished on Stranger Things season 5 and said she doesn’t get to see it early like you might think. Stranger Things season 5 wrapped filming in December 2024. Brown posted a heartfelt tribute to the cast and crew on her Instagram after saying goodbye to the show. Brown became famous from the show playing Eleven, a young girl with psychokinetic and telepathic abilities.
Stranger Things came to Netflix in July 2016 and instantly became an international success with audiences. The show was created by the Duffer brothers. It is Netflix’s second most popular show, just beaten out by Wednesday. Brown has played the role since she was a preteen and has since gone on to have a successful film career starring in two Enola Holmes movies, Damsel and most recently The Electric State.

What did Millie Bobby Brown say about Stranger Things Season 5?
Surprisingly, Millie revealed she hasn’t been allowed to watch each season of Stranger Things early, much to the surprise of fans. In an interview with Variety on 24 February at the premiere of The Electric State, she confessed this.
The actress told the outlet: “ They’d never do that! We haven’t done that for 10 years. I don’t think they’re going to start on the last season.”
Stranger Things’ production has spanned almost 10 years, starting in 2015 and ending in 2024.
When asked how she sees each season of the show, she said she “sees it when it comes out, just like everyone else does”.
Is there a release date for Stranger Things Season 5?
As of now, the Duffer Brothers and Netflix haven’t revealed a release date for the upcoming season. It is currently in post-production, so depending on how long that process takes, it will depend. However, fans of Stranger Things are used to waiting for long periods between each season. Season 1 aired in July 2016, and season 2 premiered in October 2017.
As the seasons go on, the time between seasons gets longer. Season 3 premiered in July 2019. Season 4 premiered almost three years later in July 2022. If Stranger Things season 5 is released this summer, it will be coming up to three years since a season was released.
