- The Stranger Things actress spoke in the past about playing the pop star
- There might be a film coming about Spears’ life
- Brown’s still open to playing the role nonetheless

It’s been a few years since Millie Bobby Brown first said she loved the idea of playing Britney Spears – and she’s still up for it.
In 2022, Brown said she wanted to play a real-life person and reckoned she could do Spears justice.
“I think her story, first of all, resonates with me. Just growing up in the public eye watching her videos, watching interviews of how when she was younger,” she said at the time. “I feel like I could tell her story in the right way – and hers only.”

However, Spears didn’t take to the idea too well. “I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life … dude I’m not dead !!!” the singer wrote at the time.
“I would love nothing more than to be part of her story”

A lot has changed since Brown’s initial comments. Funnily enough, even while Spears is in her early forties, there’s been some movement on the making of a film about her life.

The success of her memoir The Woman In Me renewed interest in her life story and it will now be adapted for the big screen. Jon M. Chu, who directed Wicked, has already signed on to direct. According to Chu, Spears will be “very involved” in its production.
With that in mind, Brown has said that she’s still very muvh up fot taking on the role if it ever fell in her lap.
“I mean, she is an absolute icon. I would love nothing more than to be a part of her story,” she told Access Hollywood. “But that’s her story, and I am in full support of her bringing her story to life how she wants to.”
Who else could play Britney Spears in the biopic?
Selena Gomez was tipped by a secret source to Life & Style magazine as a favourite of Spears’ to play her in her biopic. It helps that Gomez was a child star herself, like Spears.
Sources have said Spears has also had her eye on Natalie Portman to play her, while some fans have also backed names such as Addison Rae and Tate McRae.
