- Mr Beast’s TeamSeas plan to remove trash from the ocean has exceeded its target
- His mission continues to remove even more trash from the ocean
- Mr Beast is the biggest YouTuber in the world, having overtaken T-Series last month

Mr Beast has achieved yet another feat – the world’s most popular YouTuber has revealed his TeamSeas campaign has successfully removed a huge amount of trash from the ocean and exceeded his initial ambitious target.
Ambitious target
The TeamSeas campaign was started in October 2021, with an aim to raise $30 million which would then be used to remove 30 million pounds of trash from the oceans. While the $30 million target was hit by January 2022, the target to remove the trash took a little longer to achieve – but now it was been.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) Mr Beast posted to his 30.6 million followers on July 17: “As of today all 34,000,000 pounds of trash from TeamSeas has been removed from the ocean and verified by a third party :D”
But this isn’t the end – on the TeamSeas website, there are links to other organisations to keep the movement going.
List of achievements
Mr Beast – real name Jimmy Donaldson – is well known for his stunts on YouTube, but he also has a reputation for his philanthropic works, including giving away huge sums of money and the Team Trees project, which planted 20 million trees in 2020.
Mr Beast recently became the biggest YouTube channel in the world in terms of numbers of subscribers, overtaking long-time leader, T-Series.
T-Series – an Indian channel that uploads music videos and trailers – had been the number one channel since 2019. However, Mr Beast – who has long been the individual with the most subscribers to a YouTube channel – overtook T-Series in early June, passing T-Series’ 266 million subscribers.
