YouTuber MrBeast is known for his huge stunts, but the latest he is planning could be the biggest – he is gaining exclusive access to explore the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

MrBeast is renting the Pyramids – one of the ancient wonders of the world and a hugely significant archaeological site – for 100 hours to create content for his channel.

MrBeast has more than 337 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel and approaching 500 million when his other channels are included, at the time of writing. Earlier this year, he became the biggest YouTuber in the world.

The Pyramids of Giza comprises the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx. They were estimated to be built between 2600-2500BC. The pyramids are also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

MrBeast exploring the pyramids

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, revealed his plan to rent the pyramids during an appearance on Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles’ podcast, Beyond the Records.

While there, MrBeast plans to widely explore the pyramids, along with a guide and some of his regular team and record his experiences for his channel. He added he was excited to go “through all the rooms and the tombs and that kind of stuff.” He also wants to show viewers parts of the pyramids that haven’t been seen publicly before.

He also wants to sleep in one of the pyramids – although he added he doesn’t believe in ghosts.

Working with Egyptian government

MrBeast added that he worked with the Egyptian government to make this happen, but didn’t reveal any specifics of the deal that was struck for this to happen.

This isn’t the first time that the Egyptian government has allowed a very rich person to gain exclusive access to the pyramids. Earlier this year, a tech billionaire held his wedding party at the pyramids, which were closed to the public for a week as a result, according to ARTnews.
