- Nobody Wants This star Adam Brody has opened up about his wife Leighton Meester’s role in the Netflix rom-com
- Meester has joined the cast as Abby, a high-school nemesis of Joanne (Kristen Bell), in the series
- Brody revealed Meester is a ‘big fan’ of the show

Nobody Wants This fans went wild last week – as it was announced that Leighton Meester is set to join the cast of the hit Netflix show.
The Gossip Girl actor, 38, already has a pretty cool connection to the rom-com series – as she has been married to Adam Brody for 14 years.
Brody won our hearts as Jewish Rabbi Noah in the first season, and we can’t wait to see how the character navigates his relationship with agnostic podcaster Joanne (played by Kristen Bell) – as well as his wife’s character, Abby.
After revealing it’s “lovely being married” to Meester, Brody, 45, opened up about her role on the show.
“How did it come about? I don’t know, they’re big fans of hers [Leighton’s] and she’s a big fan of the show – so let’s consecrate it!” he laughed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Speaking about the season four scripts, Brody teased, “I cracked a smile. That’s all I can really say.”
Adam Brody remains tight-lipped about Nobody Wants This season four

Brody continued to be tight-lipped in an interview with Deadline.
Admitting that he could tell the outlet “very little” about season four of Nobody Wants This, he continued, “I think repercussions from [Noah] choosing maybe love over work. He’s going to grapple with that.
“That’s about as much as I know, to be honest with you.”
Cryptic…
When will Nobody Wants This season four hit Netflix?

While we don’t have an exact date just yet, fans of the show don’t have long to wait until the second series.
October 10 last year, Netflix renewed the series for a second season – and like season one, we imagine that season two will also have ten 20-30 minute episodes.
Just four months later on February 7, Jackie Tohn (who plays Esther in the show) revealed that filming is scheduled to begin on March 3, 2025 – with the second season also premiering this year.
Is Nobody Wants This based on a true story?

While a lot of the story is fictional, Nobody Wants This is loosely based on the early beginnings of writer Erin Foster’s relationship with her now-husband, Simon Tikhman.
Like Noah, Tikhman is Jewish – and Foster (who, FYI, also hosts The World’s First Podcast with her sister, Sara) converted to the religion so they could be married.
Foster originally wanted to play the role of Joanne herself – but on Netflix’s insistence, the part went to Bell.
