They first met after starring on screen together in the lockdown hit drama, Normal People.
But Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones are doing nothing to quell rumors that they are romantically involved.
Mescal, 28, and Edgar-Jones, 25 – who played Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan in the 2020 BBC drama, based on the Man Booker-nominated book by Irish author Sally Rooney – both attended the Gucci Cruise 2025 show this week (May 13). Meanwhile, fans are convinced Ryan Reynolds has given one of his Wrexham players a cameo in the new Deadpool movie.
And the Internet lost their cool after a video emerged of Mescal desperately trying to catch his former co-star’s attention while seated to watch the runway show.
Placed next to Solange Knowles, Mescal can be seen leaning forward yet failing to lock eyes with Edgar-Jones – before giving it another successful attempt, which saw the pair share a cheeky grin.
Of course, Twitter/X sprang into action to comment on the flirty interaction.
“They are never beating the allegations”, commented one fan, while another wrote, “Solange while Paul and Daisy are acting like they’re in a rom com.”
“PLEASE GET MARRIED,” pleaded someone else, while another agreed, “Just date already!!!!! Damn.”
One follower observed that perhaps the pair are actually following the lives of Marianne and Connell, and commented, “This is, actually, within the plot line of Normal People.” Another joked, “Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones are just Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio for people with SSRI prescriptions.”
Elsewhere at the fashion show – which also saw guests such as Dua Lipa, Kate Moss and Salma Hayek strut their stuff – Mescal and Edgar-Jones were seen smiling and laughing together.
“They are so beautiful together!” wrote one fan.
‘This is my Challengers’
And after posing with Mescal’s All Of Us Strangers co-star Andrew Scott, another quipped, “This is my Challengers”, referencing the new film featuring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist. Additionally, Hilary Duff has welcomed her fourth child, leaving fans puzzled about the baby’s name.
Mescal and Edgar-Jones have long sparked romance rumors, thanks to the on-screen relationship between their two characters. When the Irish actor attended the 2022 Met Gala with then-girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers, fans couldn’t help but notice that he couldn’t take his eyes off his actor friend. Emma Stone and her husband Dave McCary are also set to create a new film together, showcasing their marriage goals
However, despite Bridgers and Mescal breaking up later that year after over two years together, Edgar-Jones is currently dating Ben ‘Pip’ Seed – the photographer ex-boyfriend of actor Anya Taylor-Joy.
