- Sequel to surprise hit Five Nights at Freddy’s to hit screens in late 2025
- Tagline has been revealed: ‘Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances’
- First film became Blumhouse’s highest-grossing release

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the pizzeria…
Yes, Freddy Fazbear and his gang of murderous animatronics will be back in cinemas on December 5, 2025.
The sequel to 2023’s Five Nights at Freddy’s will be released slightly later than thought – it was assumed it would be released to coincide with Halloween, as the first movie did.
Surprise hit
The first film, adapted from the popular video game series of the same name, was a surprise hit at the box office last year, taking $297 million globally – making it Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film to date. This is even more impressive as it was streamed simultaneously on Peacock.
In the film, Josh Hutcherson starred as Mike Schmidt, the security guard charged with keeping watch over Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria – think a down-at-heel Chuck-E-Cheese – where the animatronic mascots come to life after closing and have an appetite for murder. Matthew Lillard also starred as William Afton, the owner of Freddy Fazbear’s and the main antagonist of the film.
Few details
Along with the release date, the tagline for the sequel has also been dropped – and its ominous: ‘Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances.’
However, plot details for the sequel are slim to none so far. Likewise, it has not been confirmed which – if any – of the stars of the first film will be returning. However, both Hutcherson and Lillard have previously expressed a seemingly willingness to return to their roles in the past. With 18 months to wait until the film drops, there is plenty of time for information to come out.
