It’s become one of the biggest Netflix shows to ever hit the streaming service.

So it’s no wonder that creator, writer and star Richard Gadd has found he has been launched into the spotlight.

The story is based on true events, which saw Gadd – who takes on the role of comedian and barman Donny Dunn in the drama – be stalked and harassed by a woman, Martha, who sent him 41,000 emails, 744 tweets, 100 pages of letters and 350 hours of voicemails. Also fans react to Meryl Streep’s character being resurrected for “Mamma Mia 3.

But rather than focus on the brilliant actors in Baby Reindeer – which Netflix claims has had 60 million views, globally, in one month – fans have been hunting the identities of the real people who Gadd based his true-life story on. Additionally, “Gen V” producers have confirmed that Chance Perdomo’s character will not be recast

Last week, the real-life ‘Martha’, Fiona Harvey – who Gadd alleges stalked him for more than four years – appeared on Piers Morgan’s show, Uncensored, to deny the accusations.

Gadd, 35, is yet to confirm whether the woman is his perpetrator – and it doesn’t sound like he’s going to, as he has now admitted, “I don’t think I’ll ever comment on it ever again.”

‘I don’t agree with the sleuth thing’

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gadd revealed, “I can’t confirm or deny anything relating to the real life people who the characters are based on in the show. I know for every single part, there’s been about five or six people who have been sort of named as each part, even all the way down to the pub manager. The Internet’s always going to do its thing. I can’t really comment on that.

“There was a video the other day someone had sent me of someone claiming to be Teri [Donny’s girlfriend]. I’d never met them before in my life. The internet just does this thing and I just have to let it do its thing. And that’s that.”

He continued, “I don’t agree with the sleuth thing. I’ve put out a statement publicly saying I want the show to be received as a piece of art, and I want the show to people to enjoy as a piece of art. I’m called Donny Dunn. It exists in a sort of fictional realm, even though it’s based on truth, it exists in a fictional realm, let’s enjoy the world that I’ve created.

“If I wanted the real life people to be found, I would’ve made it a documentary. I’ve spoken publicly about how I don’t want people to do it and if I start playing a game of whack-a-mole, then I’m almost adding to it. I don’t think I’ll ever comment on it ever again.”

Also, Zara Croft has been named the most iconic video game character in a global poll.
