She’s been in the public eye since she was 10-years-old.

And now aged 32, Selena Gomez is fed up with online trolls who criticize her appearance.

The former Disney channel star took to Instagram this week to share a carousel of selfies to her 435 million fans.

‘Faces, phases,’ she captioned the photos.

The post came just one day after Gomez – who will star in the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel later this year – shut down speculation that she has had cosmetic surgery on her face.

In a video from 2023, Florida plastic surgeon assistant Marissa Barrionuevo – who makes educational videos about cosmetic surgery and often speculates on which procedures celebrities have had done – featured Gomez.

The TikToker didn’t make any guesses about the singer’s potential surgery – instead noting that Gomez’s lupus diagnosis could explain “changes” in her appearance – she said, “I literally have no idea what she has gotten done. I think she’s been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate whether or not she’s gotten cosmetic things done.”

She concluded, “At the end of the day, let’s just leave her be.”

Gomez agreed – and this week commented, “Honestly I hate this. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.”

Side-by-side images Barrionuevo shared of Gomez’s changing face also angered the star, who further commented, “I was on stripes because of flare up.”  Many assumed “stripes” was an autocorrect for “steroids”.

Barrionuevo gives Gomez an apology

In a rare show of regret for an online creator, Barrionuevo was quick to issue an apology to the Only Murders in the Building actor.

Saying that she hopes the star “does not hate me”, she continued, “I agree with you, I do think we should leave you alone and I said that in the video. I totally understand you still not appreciating it.”

“You don’t owe it to anyone to tell us why you don’t look the same as what you did when you were a teenager, or in your 20s.”
